{Character Profile} ~ Thrax

Personality: Calling Thrax a manipulative, cruel and sadistic bastard would be nothing but true. However, that’s not all that lies behind the greedy and arrogant smirk of this mysterious dragon. A lot of times his more complex personality has both surprised and terrified others. He’s always been highly intelligent and wise, and even quite sophisticated and cultured despite his vicious tendencies. Some would even dare call him well-mannered and polite at some point. Because of this people even sometimes forget that despite his cordial and refined personality, Thrax is still a sadist who derives great pleasure and amusement from killing his victims, usually in a particularly gruesome manner if he would be in the right mood. Still, despite what many may believe and say about him, Thrax doesn’t see the point on going on blind killing sprees or just killing someone without any reason too or if he doens't gain something out of it. Sure, his reasons could be very different and incomprehensible from a human or any sane person’s point of view, but he’s usually not one to waste life simply because he’s bored. It’ll be more likely if they annoyed or angered him in some way.
Thrax is both serious and someone who knows how and when to have a good time, observant and collected mostly, but could when least expecting snap. He’s sarcastic and quite playful in his own way, his dark sense of humor usually not really surprising anyone.
Like many other of his race, Thrax never hesitates to take something he wants and is very possessive once he’s claimed it as his, be it either over objects, land or even living beings. Though in his case, he’s always cared about gaining more knowledge than anything, knowing from experiences how much more valuable and of use that is.
He’s never had any problem adapting to new things and environment. And whenever the times changed, he had no problem changing to fit in with it either.
The times people would call him a crazy pyromaniac, he’d simply laugh and happily prove them right.


History: Many rumors and things have been said about Thrax, or as many have called him, ‘Red Death’, throughout the centuries. He’s been infamous amongst humans and other species for not only his frightening powers and wrath, but also for his wicked mind and high intelligence. In fact, that’s one of the bigger reasons to why even his own kind both feared and respected him. Yes, Thrax was considered to be one of the more powerful and fearsome dragons, but he rarely ever used his brute strength or flames to terrify others, and instead simply outsmarted them. By that, he found more interesting and entertaining ways to spread fear and claim territory.
Not many know the full backstory of the Red Death, on where exactly he came from or how he came to be what he is now. Thrax has always been greedy and power-hungry, a usual trait among dragons, but not so much for treasures or the sort, but for knowledge. For him that was more worth his time than gold or jewels. So his way of thinking and seeing the world is slightly different, some say it could be because of his age while others blame it on some of the stories they’ve heard about him.
One of those stories tells about how he was found and raised by a sorcerer when recently hatched. According to rumors it was said Thrax used to be very weak from the beginning, barely able to fend for himself and survive on his own. So when stumbled upon the small hatchling, the wandering warlock might’ve just taken enough pity on the sickly looking newborn for him to raise it. And so that would explain his raw talent and knowledge about both sorcery and the world, and how he so easily can adapt and fit in to pretty much anything, no matter the era or the changes that came with time. But what happened then to merciful sorcerer? Well, the majority believed that as soon as Thrax had learned and grown enough strong enough, had killed the man and devoured him, and that way absorbed his magic and life-force. Many seem to think that this could be the source and/or reason for sudden strength and power the from the start weak dragon got it, and from there on simply evolved to the powerful and frightful being he is now.

If a dragon wanted something, they’d simply just take it without a care in the world, tearing down and killing anything or anyone that might be in their way. It could be either objects or even living beings, no matter, they’d claim it. Thrax was no exception. So when he one day laid his eyes on the rare and beautiful blue dragon (Pocahontas), he had without hesitation forced himself on her and claimed her as his mate, binding them together for life. He neither minded nor cared that she hated him with all her might for it, and would easily find and (forcefully) bring her back whenever she tried to escape. In fact it really amused him how she still kept refusing to give into the more powerful dragon, no matter what he did to her. He loved the fact that she was stubborn, never hiding her hate for him. In some ways she was a challenge, something he always enjoyed thoroughly. Thrax may have claimed her as his mate, but that didn’t mean he treated her well. In his eye she was merely another possession, a rare treasure more valuable than simple gold. He punished and abused her, but not badly enough to be fatal. Even when she dreaded his company, he did nothing more than enjoy hers.

Surprising a dragon was never an easy or recommendable task, but that’s what happened one night, out of nowhere. He had been together with Pocahontas, right before he’d barely have time to sense the nearing danger. Being in his human form, he had been at a disadvantage when suddenly attacked and knocked out. The first thing he thought off when he woke up inside a cell, was that whatever ti was that had attacked them hadn’t been human. The second was him being unable to turn back into his real form, and was stuck in current half-human/dragon form instead. The third, after seeing an innocent looking woman behind the bars holding him captive, was that he had been tricked by none other than goddamn angels and his pride was fucking hurt.

Fears/Weakness: Naturally, powers or anything ice/water related would be an advantage towards Thrax. Ice, however, is much more affective on him than water in this case. Since as he’s most of the time is warm he can stand the cold for a good amount of time, but when and if he’d reach his limit he’ll be near powerless and even immobile.
There’s not much a dragon of his age and capacity would fear, but like most arrogant dragons who knows they’re superior to most living things, powerlessness and not being in control, are both things Thrax like many of his kind dreads and despises.
