Another new room?! Another roommate? • Phoebus

Chel smiled and stretched her arms. It wasn't so bad after all this new roommate.
"You know... at the beginning I was afraid of you." she chuckled "You could have been a crazy killer or something..."

Phoebus glanced over at her out of the corner of his eye. "I could tell. I hope I didn't frighten you too much." He chuckled softly to himself. At least he hadn't yelled at her when he woke up like he did to Sinbad. Damn werewolf should know you should never startle a werewolf like that.

"There's probably worse here." Chel chuckled a bit; if there were dragons, Arachnes, vampires, werewolves and who knows what else, the next switch maybe won't be nice like this one.
"Who knows how many of us they brought here and what exactly they did brought." she said giving a quick look at the door "My last roommate was an Arachne, I know that there's a vampire and a dragon around here and now you're a werewolf..."

Phoebus looked over at her in surprise. "Dragons? How the hell do you capture a dragon?" He shook his head to focus on what she was saying. "So far I've only heard of werewolves, an elf, a fire demon, and now a mermaid in this place. Never would have thought of a dragon." He sat up and leaned back against the wall.

"Right?" Chel turned to him "I was thinking the same thing! It's impossible!" from the moment Charlotte told her about the dragon Chel was wondering how those angels managed to capture one.
"Instead there is one... it was roomed with a vampire girl, Charlotte was her name." Chel smiled, she was happy to share all her informations with him and vice versa. Maybe that would help in a some how.

Phoebus sniffed the air slightly, trying to sense the types of supernaturals in this place. If he focused really hard, he could get a gist of what was around. Whether he was exact or not was a mystery. "I'd say right now we are close to....some sort of elemental, and a werewolf. There are two other scents but I'm not familiar with them. Maybe one of them is your Arachne friend." He opened his eyes and tapped his fingers against his leg. "Damn, I was hoping we were near that dragon. I'm curious as to how it was obtained." He chuckled to himself.

Chel observed Phoebus trying to sense all the supernaturals trapped there, it seemed like he was going to have a stroke. She couldn't help but laugh sightly when he finally told her what he sensed, she was anxious to know who else there could be near them.
"It would be great if Anita is somewhere near us." Chel smiled "I'm pretty sure that sooner or later you'll see that dragon... or hear, if it's big enough." she laughed.

Phoebus smiled at her. "Perhaps, that would be interesting." He stood up and walked around the room once again. His eyes landed on a circular piece of iron bolted to the wall. He ran his hands over it, wondering why it was there. "Do you suppose these are the source of the angel's magic in these rooms? There was another in my old cell, only a different shape." He left his hand on the wall as he looked over towards her.

Chel moved her look from Phoebus to the piece of iron "I don't know..." she bit her lips and stood up coming closer to where he was standing "Do you think this is what blocks your powers?" she asked observing the piece on the wall. She didn't know if iron was so powerful to block magic, but maybe with an angelic help...

Phoebus returned his gaze back to the iron and knocked on it, testing if there was a passageway hidden or something. "It could be. Either that or it's just a random 'decoration' perhaps." He took a step back and glanced to her. "So you really have no powers huh?"

Chel shrugged "No, just a nice voice.. like everyone else." she laughed, every merpeople had a nice voice so it wasn't even count as a power; mostly because they used it only to deviate human boats or swimmers, not a big deal actually.
"Obviously this depends from kind to kind. Our community never had powers, even hundreds of year ago we used only our strength and... team work." she winked.

Phoebus gave her a slight smile as he leaned against the wall they were standing by once again. "That's too bad. I always thought that beautiful creatures such as yourself had a...bewitching aura." Every mermaid he had seen was indeed beautiful, yet there was something about them that got under his skin.

"A bewitching aura?" Chel laughed softly "I don't think that can be true! It's just... normal... I guess.." she smiled. It was the first time someone actually said such thing about her and her kind.

"I didn't mean that as an insult of course." Phoebus held up his hands as if pardoning himself. After the words came out, he immediately realized it sounded wrong.

Chel laughed "In that case I'm not gonna take it" she laughed raising her hands too, probably she didn't understand what he meant. She smiled laying her back on the wall, it was from the day she was taken that she didn't laugh like that: it was a good sensation and it helped to forget the pain in her legs.
She stretched a little massaging her feet.

Phoebus watched her from the other side of the room. He forgot every now and then that she was a mermaid. She has legs for god's sake.
He let a few moments of silence pass between the two of them before he spoke up. "So how long as it been, since you've been without your tail I mean?"

Chel raised her look surprised by the question. Probably Phoebus noticed that she was massaging her feet and probably from the first moment he was wondering where her tail could be.
"A few weeks.. more or less.." she smiled trying to reassure him "I just need some water and then everything is all right for a while." she said pointing at the sink in the corner "It may not be the best, but it's water.."

Phoebus followed her finger to the sink. He hadn't even noticed it before. He'd never heard of a mermaid going weeks without their tale. Wasn't that a death sentence to go that long?
When she mentioned she just needed water, he walked over to his armor and ripped off a strip of his cape."I assume it's been a while since you've had water then?" Turning on the water in the sink, he dipped the cloth into the water, soaking it for a while. "Here, it's not much but it'll help." He gently placed the cloth on her legs, hoping the temperature wasn't too cold.

Chel followed each step of Phoebus, wondering what he could be thinking right now.
"Well..." she said turning down at her own feet "I had some time ago-" she stopped talking when Phoebus placed the cloth on her legs. "Woah..." she smiled, surely Chel didn't feel the sensation of water on her body from a very long time. Of course it wasn't enough for her full transformation, but some golden scales were clearly visible on her legs.
"Thank you!" Chel smiled happily turning to Phoebus "This is really awesome!"

Phoebus almost took the cloth off when she made a noise but realized upon looking at her face that she wasn't hurt or anything. It seemed to put her in a better mood. That's always a good sign.
"If you need anymore, just tell me." He gave her a soft smile before sitting back down a fair distance from her. Her golden scales sure were beautiful, although they would probably look so much better in the sunlight rather than in a damp cell.

"I'm fine now. Thank you." Chel smiled softly at him; he was being so kind towards her and she didn't know what to do for him. She glanced at Phoebus with one eye, he was watching her scales. "You know.. all together they look better..." she smiled passing the cloth on her legs "It's a nice view in the water."

Phoebus glanced up from her scales and looked at her face. "I'm sure they are. You must miss it." It's a shame she can't see them everyday like she used to. Instead now she's stuck here. This was no place for a mermaid, not even the bad ones.

"You can't imagine it!" Chel sighed, swimming and feeling her tail were the things she missed the most. Plus her brother, of course.
"This isn't my true form." she sighed frustrated looking at her legs "This isn't my element. I would do anything to have my tail back! If only I could leave..." she stopped. Anger was taking over and her usual positivity was fading away. Chel couldn't let it happen, she took a deep breath and sighed. "Sorry.." she muttered massaging her head.

Phoebus watched her struggle with her feelings and frowned. "Don't apologize. I had a little frustration earlier too, remember?" He chuckled softly, trying to lighten her mood. Her frustration was something he easily understood. It had been forever since he actually transformed himself, but it didn't really bother him. He hated his werewolf form in all honesty. Transforming was his least favorite thing to do, considering it hurt like hell.

Chel smiled "Yep. I remember." she laughed sightly turning her head to him "At least you don't have this kind of problems, two feet remain two feet no matter where are you." she smiled pointing his legs.
